Are You Ready for Pancake Day?
Did you know that pancakes have been around for over 2000 years? They were first mentioned in the 5th century B.C. in the poems of Cratinus and Magnes. The Ancient Romans loved to eat ‘alita dolcia’, a dish made from milk, flour, eggs and spices that was very similar to pancakes. A lot has changed since the Roman times (obviously), and now we’re blessed with a wealth of different flours, toppings and recipes to make all sorts of pancakes. Here’s some of our favourites!
Vegans can enjoy Pancake Day too with this delicious Sweet Hazelnut & Chocolate Pancake Recipe from Foodie Flavours. It’s a thick, American-style pancake recipe with a soft fluffy centre and crispy edges.
