Sublime's Chimichurri Butter

We don’t need any encouragement to eat more butter but the clever folk at Sublime have managed to make our favourite toast topper even more indulgent with their decadent flavoured butters. Inspired by and named after the Sublime Society of Beefsteak - an eccentric 18th Century London gentlemen’s club - Sublime is a fab range of flavoured butters created to complement the quality produce found in independent delis & butchers - especially steak! Varieties include Truffle, Parmesan & Black Pepper and Chimichurri; delicious in mash or melted on top of steaks. sublimebutter.com

Spicebox's Family Curry Night Boxes

In order to adapt under lockdown, London curry house Spicebox pivoted to selling their stunning curries nationwide, including a range of fantastic Family Curry Night Boxes. Available in two varieties (Korma and Tikka Masala), these veg-packed curries are vegan but no less indulgent. The boxes generously feed a family of 4-6 people and inside you’ll find everything you need to make a creamy and fragrant curry, along with all the extras that make a curry night so special, including Samosas, homemade chutneys, toasted cashews and the most gloriously tasty tarka dhal.

We tried the Korma box and were blow away by the freshness and quality of ingredients - especially the naan, which tasted fresh from the takeaway, despite having traveled from Walthamstow to Essex! Inside you’ll also find a step by step recipe card, or you can view recipe videos here.

Available for delivery on Thursdays and Fridays to addresses across England.

Healthier Curries from Chef Akila

Image for blog - 6 delicious things we’re loving this month

Chef Akila make some of the most delicious ready-made curries we’ve ever tasted - a world apart from anything you’d find at the supermarket. The team at this multi-award winning Yorkshire-based startup specialise in clean curries that are handmade, freshly frozen and delivered to homes around the UK. The business was founded by a 75-year-old grandmother from India (Akila) and her son, who is a NHS consultant doctor, and the meals have been developed alongside doctors and nutritionists to ensure they’re as healthy as possible.

Aside from being much lighter than anything you’d get from a takeaway or supermarket, the dishes are wonderfully indulgent and generously portioned, with incredible layering of flavour. Favourites for us include the silky and rich Paneer Butter Masala, the meltingly tender Desi Goat Curry and the flavour-packed Royal Lamb Biryani.

The founders of East London ice cream makers Hackney Gelato toured Italy to learn how to make perfect gelato from the masters of the craft, and the results are utterly irresistible: feather light, creamy and packed with flavour.
