  • Time preparation 25 minutes
  • Serve Serves 8

This easy chocolate dessert recipe can be whipped up in minutes for friends and family. Make an easy chocolate filling by combining melted chocolate, mascarpone and orange zest, then pouring it into a premade sweet pastry case. Utterly delicious and very indulgent!

  • 2 x 100g bars 70% cocoa dark chocolate, broken into squares
  • 250g tub Mascarpone
  • 3 tbsps caster sugar
  • Finely grated zest 1 orange
  • 1 x Sweet Pastry Case
  • 4 figs
  • 1–2 tbsps clear honey

Place the chocolate in a heatproof bowl and set over a pan of barely simmering water, stirring until melted. Set aside to cool to room temperature.

In a separate bowl, mix the mascarpone with the caster sugar then add the chocolate, stirring all the time until smooth and completely combined. Lastly, stir through the orange zest. Pour the mixture into the pastry case and smooth the top. Chill for 15 minutes or until ready to serve.

Just before serving, cut the figs into quarters and arrange on top, finishing with a drizzle of honey.
