The Great British Food Awards were launched in 2014 to celebrate the country's finest artisanal produce, as well as the hard-working people behind the scenes. This year, the awards are bigger and better than ever, with lots of new categories and amazing celebrity judges, including Raymond Blanc OBE, Masterchef's Monica Galetti, Olly Smith, Eric Lanlard and Miguel Barclay.
This year, the British Speciality category was added to the roster to celebrate classic food and drink made in a traditional way , while the Best New Product group rewards exciting new launches from the last two years. From dairy to cheese, artisan drinks to savoury preserves, The Great British Food Awards has a category for everyone.
Every year, fresh new faces are added to the judging panel, each wielding a hefty influence in the realm of British food and drink. Imagine being able to say the likes of Raymond Blanc, Michel Roux Jr or John Torode chose your product as the best cheese, gin or pie in all of Britain? The Great British Food Awards provide you with the opportunity to have your food and drink tasted by some of the UK's most acclaimed chefs, critics and influencers.
Once you've applied via our online entry form, you'll need to send your products to our offices where the products will be tested and shortlisted by the Great British Food Awards team. The closing date for entries is 22nd June and samples need to be with us by 29th June. The shortlist will be announced Friday 10th July.
The shortlisted products in each category will then need to be sent to our esteemed panel of judges for them to pick their winning product, as well as two finalists. Please note our judges are located around the UK so please ensure your product can feasibly be dispatched to them before entering. For more details please email the team here. Finally, the winning product in each category will be sent to our final expert judge, for them to pick our overall winner - the Best of Britain award.
The winners of each category will then be announced and will be featured in the Autumn issue of Great British Food magazine, on sale nationally in supermarkets and in WHSmith.
