Valentine’s Day; loved by some, disliked by others. We here at Great British Food appreciate any excuse to go out for a meal! But thanks to lockdown 3.0, there’s no chance of going out to a restaurant to celebrate.

If you want something more exciting than a regular takeaway, then why not get a DIY meal kit? These make at home meals are really easy to assemble and will provide you with restaurant quality food in an instant. What’s more, they allow you to support local, independent restaurants. These are our favourite dine at home options for a Valentine’s Day feast.

Enjoy ‘Breakfast En Bread’ with this Valentine’s Day meal kit

You’ll love this ‘breakfast en bread’ Valentine’s Day offering from popular Hackney restaurant, the Barge House, renowned for serving breakfasts loaded inside crusty cob loaves and baked in the oven. Choose from a Full English, The Smokey Salmon — locally sourced smoked salmon, spinach, slow roasted tomatoes, leeks and an egg — as well as vegan and vegetarian options.

Individual ‘breakfast en breads’ start at £14.50, but we recommend The Furnace Sparkling Wine Box, which consists of any two breakfasts of your choice, a copy of Noble Rot food magazine and a 75cl bottle of The Wren English Reserve Sparkling White Brut.
