This was an exquisite drink, beautifully made with a really natural taste. It gets the balance perfectly between the grapefruit and the sugar content of the tonic. Too much grapefruit and it’s like an acidic attack on the throat, too much sugar and it’s yet another over-sweetened, flavoured tonic water. But here, gloriously, you get that wonderful, gently bitter, totally real, refreshing taste of grapefruit and it’s softened by the tonic. It’s a lovely drink on its own with ice, lemon – or I dare say -a slice of grapefruit. But great also with gin or vodka. I loved the size of the bottle, the simple design and the colour of the liquid. A great victor of this very busy shortlist.
